As you might have seen – Fragrance Lake 1/2 was cancelled due to the unfortunate and sad plane accident in the Chuckanut Mountains above Larrabee State Park the Monday before. We are so sorry for the loss of this pilot and for the suffering of his family and friends.

On Saturday, February 17th, Shawn competed against serious weather – a biting cold made miserable by incessant wind, rain and falling/felled trees – at Northwest Endurance Events’ Woolley Trail Run 50k. Though he was aiming for a sub 4 hour finish, he was still proud to tackle such conditions to come out with the W in 4:13:36, 15 minutes ahead of 2nd place overall and 1st Female, Noelle Bittner, who is only 18! The course started near the trail head off Fruitdale Rd. and SR 20 in Sedro Woolley, WA, continuing east along the Cascade Trail. The Cascade Trail runs 22.5 miles in length and connects Sedro Woolley and Concrete and consists of crushed rock.

Bellingham local and Fairhaven Runners’ awesome staff member, Sierra Brisky won the 1/2 Marathon OVERALL in 1:30:58, just 30ish seconds ahead of 2nd place overall and 1st Male, Travis Johnson.
