Run the World – 2016 Team Mileage

With the holidaze’s end, so ends our individual and collective mileage for 2016. Each year we like to gather our team’s mileage total. Last year, with 9 athletes, we logged a total of 23,816.85 miles, shy of running the world. But, in 2016, with 10 athletes’ total miles, we ran the world, and then some. I’d say, basically the world plus a trip from Bellingham, WA to Bozeman, MT; Bozeman because it’s at 4,816 ft, hosts 67 miles of trails, a chunk of us have been there and fell in love, and our darling Corrine went to MSU.

Our collective mileage wasn’t without injury, time off, breakthroughs and poor performances, mental and emotional battles, representing the US in major championships, tackling new distances, cross training (cycling hundreds of miles and aqua jogging/using the elliptical over 50+ hours), and jaw-dropping elevation gains of 450k (Corrine), 323k (Scarlett), 172k (Nikki)…There were many lessons, many gut and soul checks, and many conversations shared in our run around the world, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

How far did you or your team get this year? How did it compare to others?
