It’s like, you think you’re already proud of your teammates for their multifaceted accomplishments, and then they go and make World Championships and take podiums…let’s dig in!

Saturday, July 20 – The Utah Spartan Super was important. It would be the 6th race Alyson Carlyon would compete at in 2019. Taking part in the Super Elite, Alyson competed to solidify her spot at the 2019 Spartan World Championships (set to take place on September 29th in North Lake Tahoe, CA). In Snowbasin Resort on Mount Ogden, in the heart of the rugged Wasatch mountain range, Alyson felt strong; with a miss in the last spear, it wasn’t a perfect day, but it was a good day – she’d go on to place 27th. With hard work and determination Alyson clinched her spot for the World Champs! We are so proud of her, and can’t wait to see what’s she’s capable of in a couple months’ time! Full Results HERE!

Saturday, July 20 – “The Capitol Lakefair was founded by a collection of local business people who came together to create a local celebration every summer…Occurring every year during the third week in July, the week-long celebration concludes with the Olympia Lakefair Races on Saturday evening and a firework show on Sunday.” The celebratory event includes a 1/2 marathon, 8k and 3k, all of which take place around Heritage Park in Olympia, WA. Our girl Kathryn Merrill, on a hot streak this summer, won the 8k and was Top 10 OA, finishing in 32:30! Full Results HERE!

Saturday, July 20 – Rounding out a Saturday of events, Rachel Cundy used the 10th Annual Bowerman 5k as a workout. Held at the Nike Campus in Beaverton, OR in the evening, the 5k is known to be festive. “Each year the event raises money for the Achon Uganda Children’s Fund (AUCF), an organization focused on providing improved healthcare, education and exposure to sport in Uganda communities,” which is especially special, as Cundy had recently spent time in Uganda. With a workout at play, Cundy was 37th in 19:41; Full Results HERE!

Sunday, July 21 – At the infamous Seafair Triathlon (Seattle’s ONLY Triathlon), David Larpenteur took off in what would be his second Tri in 2 weeks, and where he’d find himself an impressive bridesmaid for the 2nd week in a row. The Seafair course is considered flat and fast, taking place on the shores of Lake Washington at Seward Park, in the shadows of downtown Seattle. Elite Men and Women set out at 7:00 am and were blessed with incredible weather. David was just 56 seconds back from 1st place’s David Conger who finished in 1:05:04 to David’s 1:06:00.
