VanderWiele, Howisey to compete at TCS New York City Marathon this Sunday!

On Sunday, November 6th two of our athletes will compete at the TCS New York City Marathon. Nikki VanderWiele and Aly Howisey have been training with the race in mind since they posted their qualifiers over a year ago. Both have endured their fair share of hiccups in navigating the start line; we are proud of the accomplishment in getting to the start line alone. This morning they had the fortune of running a shakeout with Shalane Flanagan, and had the honor of meeting Sara Hall.

In case you didn’t know, the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon is going to be i-n-s-a-n-e! The female field is ridiculously rad: Esther Atkins, Janet Bawcom, Annie Bersagel, Neeley Gracey-Spence, Sara Hall, Mary Keitany, Sally Kipyego, Lanni Marchant (one of our faves from BC), Dot McMahan, Brianne Nelson, etc. But what we’re most excited about are the women who will debut – Kim Conley, Gwen Jorgensen (Aly’s favorite) and Molly Huddle (my favorite).

To watch the broadcast live, go to abc7ny.com, the ABC app, or ESPN2! Professional Woman start at 9:20 am (ET), Wave 1 (including Professional Men) start at 9:50 am (ET), with all other waves to follow in succession. To track your athlete, or to track Nikki and Aly, download the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon Mobile App, which will host live, on-map tracking with splits through every 5k, the ½, and finish, live pro-athlete leaderboard, etc. To track via the web, go here: http://liveresults.nyrr.org/e/NY2016?_ga=1.130351561.71292158.1476979986#/tracker

Good luck Aly and Nikki! We’ll be up with you early, with you in your warm-up, during your race, in your cool down, with you in that delicious post-race meal! Believe in the work. Relax. Kick some ass!
