K2K Race Report

On Sunday, June 28th, BDP hosted its first event, partnering with Kulshan Brewery for the inaugural K2K race. None of it would have been possible had it not been for our sponsors, who helped us create a more bountiful event with awesome prizes and giveaways. Thank you to Saucony for our first place prizes, swag, and flagging. Thank you to Nuun for delicious water additives and samples. Thank you to Kelly Linville and Ted Mischaikov, President and CEO of Healthy Pet, for your donations. Thank you to Walton Beverage for drinks for our youth and non-drinkers. And special thanks to Kulshan Brewery, who really aided in the development and creative organization of the race – for logo development, marketing, Red Boots Designs t-shirt creation, growlers, beer, staff, and your two wonderful venues. Special thanks to Jen Lamb for all your time and spirit. Thank you to Birch Equipment for our road closures and cones. Thank you to all businesses along the course that were willing and encouraging; without your go-ahead, we wouldn’t have been able to run brewery to brewery. Thank you to our volunteers; without you we wouldn’t have had safe street crossings, a lead bike, a trumpet blowing at the start, a killer registration team, and clear direction. Thank you to all that I may have missed, and to our racers, friends and family, who took this first step with us, and were a part of a new venture, supporting your local brewery and your local competitive female running team. June 28th was wicked cool because of all of you.
