Galbraith Mountain Photoshoot

Remember Dan Probst? The one who, after a couple attempts finally got himself up and down Baker in a ultra-marathon success story of bringing attention to the old Mt. Baker Marathon? He set me up with Burke Hovde, a local photographer, who was working on the Galbraith Mountain Map project, a website created by Virginia Cleaveland, developed out of inspiration “to produce a web map showcasing the trail network at Galbraith Mountain to promote the area for both its recreation and tourism potential.”

The Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition (WMBC) is a nonprofit organization that works with land managers, elected officials and educational institutions to promote continued and expanded access for mountain biking in Whatcom County. The WMBC maintains a Recreational Use Agreement with the owners of Galbraith Mountain and is responsible for all trail maintenance and construction. Learn more about the WMBC and purchase a print version of the trail map at wmbcmtb.org.

Alyson Klein, Amber Morrison and myself spent a few hours on the west side of the mountain with Burke. Here’s a little sneak peak of the shoot –
