Saturday, March 2 – At the Florence Forth N.C. 10k Championships in Durham, NC, Derek overcame some slight discomfort in jet lag and the GI monster to nab a PR. Finishing in a time of 34:46, Derek took 14th OA. The Florence Forth 10k benefits AE ALLIANCE (Autoimmune Encephalitis Alliance); in 2019 the race raised $35,000 to the cause! In preparing for the sixth Florence Forth, we reflect on capes and doing good.” As the USATF NC 10k Championships (eligible for USATF awards only if a 12-month resident of NC and a member of the USATF NC Association), runners enjoyed a rolling course.
